A children's design store grows in Greenwich Village

The gallery and its rigorously edited collection of modernist wares for the junior set is just phase one for the fledgling Kid O company, according to founder Lisa Mahar, an architect and mother. This is a showplace, Mahar explained on a recent afternoon in the minimalist shop, where displays put merchandise at a preschoolers eye level. But her ultimate goal is the development of product lines that can be whosaled to other retailers.
